As it is with you, so it is with me

As it is with me so is it with you,
light and shade, left and right, white and black of hue.
This gift it seems gently falls from the greenest tree,
As it is with you, so it is with me.

By Mattie Barker

As it is with me so it is with you,
Light and shade, left and right, white and black of hue.
This gift it seems gently falls from the greenest tree,
As it is with you, so it is with me.

You see, you go this way and I sway there, we move as separate parts
We dance amidst our wildest dreams navigated by our hearts.
And through the gift of vision we begin to see, that as it is with you so it is with me.

I have walked some paths of which I’m deeply saddened by the mess,
I’ve seen so much division that my heart can’t seem to rest.
I’ve lifted swords and danced with fate, there is still only one thing I see,
that as it is with you, so it is with me.

For the righteousness of a ruling man with his servants by his side
And kingdoms that a built for peace still struggle with self pride
The walls we build and often set to give us peace at heart,
Pull us further from the peace we seek that we were born with at the start.

So we joyously determine fate to shape our future bright, can we do it from the wrongs we wrote that we destine to make right.
Have we gone and strayed far from the path, the path that sets us free?
Still the God we seek rests in you, as it rests in me.

As it is with you so it is with me
The harmony within us all that naturally succeeds,
We don’t need to search too far for, just stop relax and breathe,
as it is with you so it is with me.
